Citizenship & Immigration Canada requires foreign nationals who are applying for temporary status and/or immigration to undergo a medical examination.
Visitors, students and temporary workers generally do not require a medical examination if they are staying less than six (6) months. If you are planning to stay for more than six (6) months, you may check the Designated Country/Territory List to determine if you required to undergo a medical examination.
Permanent residents must pass a medical examination before entering Canada. If you have a spouse, or children listed on your application, they must pass a medical examination as well. Applications for permanent residence will be denied if a persons health is determined to be a danger to public health or safety, or would cause excessive demand on the Canadian health system or social services in Canada.
Medical exam results are valid for twelve (12) months. If your medical examination was done more than 12 months prior to submitting your application, it is expired and your application may be affected.
